About Tifani Long

Background and Work life

Tifani Long is a 2024 candidate for Supervisor of Elections in Citrus County, Florida.

Tifani has lived in Citrus County since 1991. The eldest of five children, she attended Central Catholic (since renamed Saint John Paul II Catholic School) for both elementary and middle school. She graduated from Lecanto High School with honors and several college courses already completed.

One of Tifani’s first jobs was at American Safety Institute (ASI) in Crystal River. This is where she first found her love of technology. ASI was one of the first driver education and traffic safety course providers to be approved for online use. While working at ASI, Tifani was able to see firsthand the work that goes into getting approvals from the State of Florida DMV.

A few years later, Tifani began working for National Background Data (NBD; A First Advantage Company, NASDAQ: FADV); an aggregator and reseller of criminal records from court and corrections sources. NBD provided web-based reports to national, professional background screening companies (affiliates). Tifani worked as a liaison between the affiliate and NBD’s technical support/programming departments; understanding both the “technical side” of the business and possessing the ability to relate this information in concise layman’s terms. While working with NBD, Tifani learned about the rigid processes of acquiring, maintaining, and updating data collected from federal, state, and county public record sources.

After NBD, Tifani took several years off from working to be a stay-at-home mom. During this time, she also studied web design, computer programming, and graphic design.

When both of her boys were of school age, she opened Take Notice Media with her fiance Steven. Take Notice Media provides graphic design and web design to various businesses and non-profits in Citrus County.

home life

Tifani lives in Hernando with her two sons, Jayden and Elijah, and her fiance Steven.

Jayden is a pre-IB sophomore at Lecanto High School. He is currently the sophomore-class parliamentarian in student government. Additionally, he is involved in Youth-in-Government and the Interact Club.

Elijah is a 1st grader at Forest Ridge Elementary and always keeps Tifani on her toes.

Steven recently obtained his CDL permit and is now training with the school district to become a (much-needed) bus driver for Citrus County Schools.

Tifani says, “My boys inspire me to be a better person every day. They have taught me both patience and kindness. Their never-ending faith in me is what drives me to leave the world a better place than I found it.”

Community Involvement

Tifani has been involved with the Citrus County Republican Party since 2018.

Shortly after being sworn in as a member, she was elected secretary for two terms (2018–2022). During this time, she created a new logo, updated the website, and streamlined all print media.

Since 2022, Tifani has served as the appointed technical support specialist. She has also been instrumental in the “modernization” of the Lincoln Day Dinners for the past three years. She has helped ease the transition from in-person ticket sales to online ticket sales.
